The March equinox -- important in astronomy because it’s used to define the celestial co-ordinate system of right ascension and declination -- which will take place at 14:49 on the afternoon of Friday March 20th Australian Eastern Daylight time -- that’s 23:49 on the evening of Thursday March 19 US Eastern Daylight Time and 03:49 in the morning of Friday March 20th Greenwich mean time.
