As we go to air the joint European Space Agency Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency BepiColombo mission to Mercury is undertaking the first of six flybys of its destination planet as it uses the tiny world’s gravity assist to slow down enough to eventually achieve orbit insertion in 2025.
