*A glimpse into the heart of an exploding star Astronomers peering deep into the violent heart of a supernova debris field have discovered a slowly expanding torus shaped cloud of oxygen and neon surrounding a young neutron star. The findings provide new insights into the processes involved in the explosive deaths of massive stars through core collapse supernovae. 

*New study examines the mystery of cosmic voids A new study has discovered the gas inside giant cosmic voids is hotter than it should be. The findings suggest that the gas in the voids may be heated by jets emanating from supermassive black holes. 

*The search for Martian life begins The European Space Agency’s ExoMars Trace Gas orbiter is about to begin its primary science mission -- searching for signs of Martian life on the Red Planet. 

*Contact lost with new Indian satellite The Indian Space Research Organization is still trying to re-establish contact with its GSAT-6A telecommunications satellite. *India Launches new navigation system satellite Just two weeks after all contact was lost with its G-SAT 6A communications satellite India has successfully launched a new satellite for its indigenous reginal navigation satellite system – the IRNSS.

A new study says alcohol consumption should be limited to below 100 grams or ten standard drinks per week. Archaeologists uncover a cache of rare coins dating back two thousand years. Sweet potatoes found to be at least 800,000 years old. Drinking three cups of coffee every day can help protect people from developing irregular heart beats
