*Mystery deepens as to what powers coronae around monster black holes

A new study has found magnetic fields around supermassive black holes at the centres of galaxies don’t appear to be strong enough to power the "coronae," clouds of superheated plasma seen around them.

*Last year….

In 2018 the Moon moved a further 3.8 centimetres away from the Earth.  The Sun lost over 174 trillion tonnes of its mass resulting in the Earth’s orbit increasing by 1.5 centimetres.  Over 150 billion new stars were formed in the visible universe.  The Andromeda Galaxy moved 3.5 billion kilometres closer to Earth.

And the Universe expanded by over 60 trillion kilometres due mostly too dark energy.  What will 2019 bring?
